Special Features:

The combination of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks distinguishes Dictador XO Aurum. This blend brings together rums matured for 25 to 35 years. Alongside honey and vanilla, its aromatic range includes dried fruit and toasted oak. Despite its velvety texture, it has a dry character.

Sugar cane honey is the raw material, and distillation takes place in copper alembics. The gold-coloured bottle bears the chemical symbol Au and atomic number 79. The rum is offered at 40% alcohol in a bottle containing 0.7 litres, with gift packaging. It can be enjoyed neat or paired with dark chocolate.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Toasty honey notes mingle with Colombian coffee on the nose. Mature oak and vanilla complete the bouquet.
• Palate: The rum is exceptionally soft on the palate. Delicate spice and oak notes accompany its supple mouthfeel.
• Finish: The long finish combines spice with chocolate.

Distillery/Bottler:

Dictador is rooted in Cartagena de Indias on Colombia’s Caribbean coast. Its rum-making history dates back to 1913. Today, Master Blender Hernan Parra continues his family’s work in the third generation. Within the Essentials Collection, his role is to bring matured rums together into distinctive blends. Aurum holds a personal place in this work: it is one of Hernan Parra’s favourite bottlings and was conceived as a tribute to the family tradition.
