Special Features:

Maturation in American oak casks previously used for bourbon and port wine shapes Dictador Platinum. The blend brings together rums aged for between 25 and 35 years. Some of the casks are recharred during maturation. Master Blender Hernan Parra oversees this rum, which is produced in Cartagena de Indias.

Alongside its pronounced vanilla, honey and coffee character, the rum reveals caramel, dark chocolate and dried fruit. Toasted oak and warm spice notes complement its full-bodied profile. The silver bottle and matching gift packaging reference the chemical element platinum through the symbol Pt and the number 78. The rum is offered at 40% alcohol in a 0.7-litre bottle.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Pronounced vanilla and honey lead the nose, accompanied by subtle hints of white chocolate and caramel parfait.
• Palate: The rum feels exceptionally soft on the palate. Fudge, intense vanilla and Colombian coffee define its flavour.
• Finish: The long finish combines sweetness with power. Subtle oak notes maintain the balance.

Distillery/Bottler:

Dictador is rooted in Cartagena de Indias on Colombia’s Caribbean coast. The history of Destilería Colombiana dates back to 1913; as a third-generation Master Blender, Hernan Parra carries forward his family’s knowledge. Since 2009, the brand has expanded into international markets, focusing particularly on long-aged rums.

Dictador uses sugar cane honey, or concentrated sugar cane juice, as its raw material. Its general production process includes fermenting this material and distilling it in copper pot stills and a continuous steel column still. During the maturation of vintage rums, the house replaces evaporation losses with rum from the same vintage. Dictador Colombia SAS produces Platinum.
