Special Features:

This Highland single malt matured for five years in a first-fill Oloroso Sherry Butt. GlenWyvis distilled the whisky in 2018; whisky from cask number 243 was released in 2024 as an official bottling for Germany, with an outturn of 671 bottles. It was bottled at a cask strength of 61.5%, without chill filtration or added colouring.

The Oloroso influence combines dark fruits and spices with a pronounced woody character. Cedar is particularly prominent on the palate, where drying tannins sit alongside nutty and roasted notes.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The intense nose reveals pencil shavings and cigar boxes, followed by cherries, plums and tart berries. Leather, clove and anise appear as subtle notes. Pepper, red apples and oranges add to the aroma, with a gentle caramel note underneath.
• Palate: On the palate, figs, raisins and oranges meet dominant cedar. Cinnamon, ginger and plentiful tannins create a drying sensation. Bitter almond, clove oil and herbal tea add subtle accents; soy sauce, roasted coffee beans and drying leather notes are also perceptible. Hazelnuts emerge later.
• Finish: The fairly long finish remains distinctly marked by toasted oak. Espresso and citrus peel accompany the lingering flavours.

Distillery/Bottler:

GlenWyvis produces its whisky in Dingwall in the Scottish Highlands. Founded in 2015, the distillery is entirely community-owned, with more than 3,000 shareholders. Community ownership is therefore not just part of its history but also central to how it operates. Production began in 2018, making this a whisky from its first year of production. GlenWyvis uses energy from wind, water, solar power and biomass to run the distillery.
