Special Features:

This Single Cask Reserve comes from Iceland's Eimverk Distillery and was distilled from locally grown barley. Bottled by the distillery in 2024, it matured for three years in cask 75, which previously held Flóki Young Malt. It is a numbered single-cask release with no sherry or beer cask finish. The whisky was bottled at 47%, without added colouring or chill filtration.

The whisky combines oak spice with sweet vanilla and cereal notes. Pastry and lemon complement this character, while intense plum fruit, honey and a full-bodied mouthfeel define the palate. Nutmeg provides a spicy transition to the medium-length finish.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Spicy oak leads the nose, with pastry and further spice aromas in the background. The sweet vanilla note then gives way to lemon.
• Palate: Intense plum fruit leads the full-bodied palate, with sweet vanilla and honey emerging behind it. Barley also comes through before a nutmeg note marks the transition to the finish.
• Finish: Malt and citrus linger alongside oak spice and further spice aromas in the medium-length finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

The family-run Eimverk Distillery in Garðabær produces Flóki and bottles the whisky itself. Since its founding in 2009, it has pursued the aim of making spirits from Icelandic raw materials. The local barley is adapted to the short Nordic summer and has a considerably lower yield than commonly imported barley. Eimverk oversees production from growing its own barley through to bottling.

The distillery devoted four years to developing Flóki, conducting 163 trial distillations as well as maturation tests. It designed and built its own stills to bring out the barley's character. This work on raw materials, recipe and distillation forms the foundation of its single malts.
