Mamma Mia derives its lemon character from a three-week infusion of the peels of Femminello del Gargano IGP lemons from Puglia. The recipe uses only natural ingredients. The liqueur is less sweet than traditional limoncellos. No colourings or preservatives are added, and the liqueur is VeganOK-certified.

The packaging also reflects the origin of the ingredients: the label paper contains recycled citrus fibres. The rounded bottle shape recalls the historical wicker-covered bottles used to transport wine, oil and spirits by sea. This version contains 0.7 litres at 24% alcohol and comes without gift packaging.

Distillery/Bottler:

Mamma Mia belongs to the house of Bellaventura and was created after its Amaretto Adriatico. Both brands focus on ingredients from Puglia in southern Italy. For its limoncello, Bellaventura sources lemons directly from the Ricucci family in Rodi Garganico. The family has grown lemons there since 1850 and harvests the fruit by hand. The small Femminello del Gargano lemons, which have protected geographical status, grow on their organically cultivated land; their aromatic peels form the basis of the liqueur.
