Special Features:

This bottling takes its character from fresh, wild-grown sloes macerated for several months in Elephant London Dry Gin. The fruit gives it a warm red colour and a rounded, gently sweet fruit bouquet. Elephant uses less sugar than many other sloe gins, bringing together the tart and sweet sides of the sloe. The alcohol content is 35%.

The sloe gin can be enjoyed neat or used in cocktails. It can also be served as a long drink with tonic water or bitter lemon and orange zest. The 0.5-litre bottle comes without gift packaging. Its neck is decorated with glass beads handmade by Maasai in Kenya especially for Elephant Gin.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose offers plenty of fruit, accompanied by a pleasant sweetness.
• Palate: On the palate, the sloe gin is fruity and tart, with distinct notes of fresh sloes.
• Finish: The finish is drier than expected. Alongside the sloes, the gin base now becomes more prominent.

Distillery/Bottler:

Elephant Gin's distillery is in Wittenburg, between Hamburg and Berlin. Robin and Tessa Gerlach developed the idea for the brand during their travels in Africa: encounters with people working in wildlife conservation inspired them to combine gin production with elephant conservation.

The batches are named after African elephants, including animals protected by the partner organisations. For every bottle sold, Elephant Gin supports elephant conservation projects with 15% of the profit per bottle or 2% of revenue, whichever is higher. The non-profit Elephant Gin Foundation focuses on protecting the animals and their habitats.
