This tasting box brings together ten different gin styles. The World Gin Tour Edition 2020 combines familiar brands and less widely available bottlings in ten miniature bottles with a total volume of 0.5 litres. Each sample contains 0.05 litres and carries its producer's brand label along with additional information. The light-coloured gift box has a red sleeve and a black insert that holds each bottle separately in place.

The selection includes Rammstein Gin from England, Alpine Gin from Austria, H2B Gin from France, Windspiel Gin from Germany, Radius Gin Batch 18 from Denmark, Darnley's Spiced Gin from Scotland, Himbrimi Winterbird Edition from Iceland, Gastro Gin from the Netherlands, Gin Mare from Spain and Virga Gin from Brazil.

Darnley's Spiced Gin and Himbrimi Winterbird illustrate the variety within the selection. Cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and ginger are among the ingredients that give the Scottish gin its warming character. The Icelandic London Dry Gin is distilled slowly using energy from geothermal water and combines a very soft mouthfeel with juniper, citrus and a subtle lavender-like note of Arctic thyme.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Darnley's Spiced Gin has aromas of orange, pine needles and rosemary, complemented by cinnamon, coriander, pepper and cloves. Himbrimi Winterbird reveals fresh citrus notes and angelica, accompanied by the scent of wild flowers.
• Palate: Darnley's Spiced Gin combines a range of spices with ginger and freshly ground pepper. A hint of orange peel follows. Himbrimi Winterbird feels exceptionally soft and gentle. Juniper, angelica and citrus are well balanced, while Arctic thyme adds a delicate lavender-like nuance.
• Finish: Darnley's Spiced Gin leaves notes of coriander, nutmeg and sage. The finish is dry, with lingering pepper. Himbrimi Winterbird has a long, gentle finish.

The Gin Box is curated by 1423 – World Class Spirits. The Danish company grew out of a hobby in 2008 and developed its own brands alongside its international spirits range. Its headquarters are in Ringe, where several thousand rum casks are also stored.

The Gin Box focuses on comparing different producers and styles. Rather than making a single gin, 1423 brings distinct bottlings together in a tasting set. The small bottles, each with its own brand label, make the selection accessible without the need for full-sized bottles.
