Beefeater London Dry Gin brings together juniper, citrus peel and traditional maceration: nine botanicals steep in neutral grain alcohol for around 24 hours before redistillation, releasing their aromas and essential oils. Alongside juniper, the recipe includes lemon peel, Seville orange peel, coriander seeds, almonds, orris root, liquorice root, angelica root and angelica seeds.

Distillation takes place in a pot still, with the heads and tails separated from the spirit used for the gin. The gin combines a distinct juniper aroma with citrus freshness and a smooth palate. It can be used in a gin and tonic or a Martini. This version is bottled at 40% in a 1 litre bottle.

Distillery/Bottler:

Beefeater Distillery is located in Kennington, London. Its origins trace back to Chelsea Distillery, founded in 1820 and acquired by pharmacist James Burrough in 1863. His work led to the development of the Beefeater recipe. The brand takes its name from the Yeoman Warders, the guardians of the Tower of London, whose image also features on the bottle label.

Quality control begins with the selection of the botanicals. Incoming raw materials are assessed and selected by the Master Distiller. After distillation, the gin undergoes a sensory check before bottling. Beefeater has been part of the Pernod Ricard group since 2005.
