Berlin Dry Gin gives flowers and regional botanicals a central role alongside the classic juniper base. Its recipe includes elderflowers, mallow flowers, sweet woodruff and fresh cucumbers. As a New Western Dry Gin, it deliberately gives juniper less prominence than a strongly juniper-led gin, combining it with a fresh, floral character.

The botanicals are macerated, or steeped in alcohol, for several weeks before being distilled individually. These individual distillates are blended with the wheat distillate that also forms the base of Berliner Brandstifter's Korn spirit. The wheat comes exclusively from Germany. The gin is filtered seven times.

Each edition consists of 9,999 bottles, numbered and sealed by hand. This bottling contains 0.7 litres at 43.3% alcohol. The gin can be enjoyed neat, over ice or with tonic.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose is floral and fruity, with clearly recognisable elder and sweet woodruff. Subtle juniper and fresh lemon notes complement the bouquet.
• Palate: Elder and sweet woodruff shape the flavour on the palate, while juniper remains in the background. The gin feels soft and slightly oily. Floral and sweetish impressions combine with fresh citrus notes.
• Finish: The finish is mild and slightly fruity. Elder and sweet woodruff linger for a long time.

Distillery/Bottler:

Vincent Honrodt founded Berliner Brandstifter GmbH in 2009. One source of inspiration was his great-grandfather Ernst-August, who was already making spirits from regional ingredients in the early 20th century. Berlin Dry Gin joined the range in 2013.

Regional collaboration extends from harvesting to production: hand-picked flowers and botanicals come from Speisegut in Berlin-Gatow. At a production partner in Berlin-Kaulsdorf, the botanical distillates are blended with the base alcohol.
