The Jack Irving Edition pairs the unchanged Brockmans Intensely Smooth Gin with a specially designed Supernova bottle. The British designer combines deep purple and vibrant fuchsia with geometric diamond shapes and metallic star motifs. This limited edition was created through Brockmans’ collaboration with On|Off London, a platform for British creative talent.

Blueberries and blackberries complement the gin’s classic juniper and citrus botanicals. The recipe also includes coriander, cassia cinnamon, liquorice, angelica, almond and orris root. Alongside the berry-led character, these ingredients contribute distinct touches: cassia adds warm cinnamon notes, liquorice brings a gentle woody sweetness, and angelica provides an earthy, dry counterpoint. Orris root adds violet notes. The gin is offered at 40% alcohol in a bottle containing 0.7 litres.

For a gin and tonic, large ice cubes, a twist of pink grapefruit zest and two blueberries make a suitable garnish. The gin is vegan, gluten-free and made without added sugar.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Blackberries and blueberries emerge on the nose, accompanied by light citrus peel aromas and delicate juniper spice.
• Palate: The berry notes feel velvety on the palate. Lively citrus notes and spicy juniper complement the fruit, with a light touch of liquorice.
• Finish: The clean finish combines gentle lemon bitterness with a dry, fruity juniper aftertaste.

Distillery/Bottler:

Brockmans processes its botanicals together with neutral grain alcohol and water in a copper still. The mixture first macerates for 14 hours, allowing the plant ingredients to release their aromas into the liquid. It is then gently heated and distilled over 9 hours. The resulting distillate reaches approximately 80% alcohol. After a resting period, the gin is gradually diluted to its drinking strength of 40%.

Neil Everitt is one of Brockmans’ founders. The company has been certified as a B Corporation since December 2023; this certification considers a company’s social and environmental impacts. Brockmans began measuring its carbon footprint for offices and business travel in 2020 and expanded the assessment in 2023 to cover production, bottles and other packaging materials, bottling and transport.
