Edinburgh Gin Lemon & Jasmine brings floral aromas together with a pronounced citrus character. This naturally flavoured gin builds on the brand's Classic London Dry, adding lemon and white jasmine blossoms to its fruity, citrus-led character. Juniper maintains the link to a classic gin profile.

Introduced in 2019, this edition is offered here as a 0.05-litre miniature at 40% alcohol. The gin is distilled in small batches, using natural botanicals and flavourings. The small format offers a way to explore the combination of lemon and jasmine.

Tonic and a twist of lemon zest bring out the citrus character in a long drink.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals a sweet, intense aroma of jasmine blossoms.
• Palate: The gin feels soft on the palate. Distinct lemon notes contrast with classic juniper, while remaining in balance with it.
• Finish: The citrus notes linger before giving way to a sweet finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

Edinburgh Gin was founded in the Scottish capital in 2010. Its Classic London Dry provided the starting point for a range encompassing classic gins, flavoured expressions and gin liqueurs. Lemon & Jasmine joined the range in 2019, when the brand was already owned by Ian Macleod Distillers.

The current distillery is located in The Arches on East Market Street, near Waverley station. Its equipment includes three stills made by Carl. During production there, botanicals are steeped overnight in neutral spirit. Lighter or floral ingredients unsuitable for this maceration are instead placed in baskets for vapour infusion. Electric water baths gently heat the stills. This allows the team to combine different techniques to suit the individual ingredients.
