Limão Fizz combines Gin Sul with freshly squeezed Portuguese lemon juice in a ready-mixed aperitif. The hand-selected lemons come from the mountains of the Algarve. Carbonation adds fizz, while a delicate juniper note complements the intense lemon character.

This alcoholic mixed drink contains 26.3% gin and 6.5% Portuguese lemon juice and is carbonated. A little pulp remains and may settle at the bottom of the bottle. Limão Fizz contains no colourings or artificial flavours.

The pale yellow aperitif has an alcohol content of 10.5% and comes in a clear glass bottle containing 0.75 litres, with a cork closure. To serve, chill the bottle thoroughly and pour over plenty of ice; no further ingredients or shaker are needed.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Lemon leads on the nose. Delicate juniper and rosemary notes accompany it, with gentle herbs and a subtle floral nuance rounding out the aroma.
• Palate: The drink feels gently sparkling on the palate. Fresh citrus notes combine with the gin base and restrained herbal notes. Sweetness, acidity and spice are balanced.
• Finish: The finish remains light and lemony, with lingering freshness.

Distillery/Bottler:

Altonaer Spirituosen Manufaktur in Hamburg produces Gin Sul, the base of this aperitif. The brand is inspired by the Costa Vicentina in south-western Portugal. In Hamburg-Altona, the distillery uses copper stills made by Arnold Holstein in Markdorf on Lake Constance, with capacities of 100 and 300 litres respectively. The gin is gently distilled in small batches.

The classic Gin Sul recipe includes juniper, coriander, Portuguese lemons, rosemary, allspice and lavender. For Limão Fizz, this gin is combined with lemon juice and carbonation to create a ready-to-serve drink. The distillery thus brings its gin production together with a cocktail concept that requires no further mixing.
