Special Features:

Sour cherries and star anise give The Hope its fruity, spicy character. The cherries contribute velvety sweetness and lively acidity, while star anise adds a warm, gently sweet spice note. Selected herbs complement this combination.

Production begins with a sour cherry macerate: soaking the fruit extracts its aromatic compounds. Further botanicals, including star anise, are then added. The fruit is processed without added sugar. During slow distillation, the fruit, herbs and spices are processed with carefully coordinated timing. The gin then rests, allowing its aromas to integrate and mellow.

The Hope is a distilled gin with an alcohol content of 40%, offered in a 0.7-litre bottle. It contains no colouring. For a gin and tonic, the brand recommends a tonic water from Fever Tree.

• Nose: On the nose, floral notes and spice meet fresh citrus accents.
• Palate: The gin is full-bodied and rounded on the palate. Juniper and coriander combine with delicate herbal notes.
• Finish: The long finish remains smooth and delicately spicy, accompanied by a light citrus note.

Distillery/Bottler:

Heaven & Hell is the brand of Kiss of Immortality d.o.o., which has a distillery in Velika Polana. The village lies in Slovenia's Prekmurje region, where the landscape is shaped by the plain along the Mura River. Robert Sobočan developed the brand and its recipes; the distillery uses stills made by Des of Subotica.

The brand concept explores the interplay of light and shadow. Its gin range also features contrasting ingredients: alongside the sour cherries in The Hope, other recipes include pumpkin or pumpkin seeds, as well as Lušt tomatoes. These ingredients belong to distinct recipes and give each bottling a different focus.
