Blueberries take centre stage in Huckleberry Gin The Original: they give the gin its name and are added fresh during the last of three distillation stages. The miniature contains 0.05 litres of the original at 44% alcohol, offering a small tasting size of this fruit-forward New Western Gin.

The recipe comprises 22 botanicals. Alongside blueberries, these include juniper, angelica root, coriander seeds, ginger, cinnamon and lavender. Lemon peel, elderflowers, hop flowers, peppermint and raspberries complete the blend. Natural spices and fresh berries are used for distillation, with no added flavourings or flavour enhancers.

Subtle floral and spicy accents complement the fresh berry character.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose opens with a clearly recognisable blueberry note that is never overpowering. As it develops, fresh citrus nuances and discreet juniper add further dimensions.
• Palate: Blueberry and citrus define the palate, with a mouthfeel that is both soft and lively. As the other botanicals gradually unfold, the berry fruit remains present, complemented by gentle juniper.
• Finish: Blueberry and citrus linger through the long finish. A light juniper note returns, while a sweetish berry note remains.

Distillery/Bottler:

Huckleberry Gin is the work of friends Maximilian Elsholtz and Jens Lauckner, together with the Munich-based company Finest Beverages GmbH. Their shared idea for a gin grew into a project involving other friends: Julian designed the label, while a personal contact introduced them to master distiller Bernd.

The gin is distilled in the Black Forest, where Bernd runs a third-generation family distillery. Production thus remains closely connected to the circle of friends from which the brand and its design emerged.
