Mackmyra + Mando Diao Rabadam Gin

Special Features:

Rabadam was created through a collaboration between Mackmyra and Swedish rock band Mando Diao. The gin matured in former cloudberry wine casks stored in a mine 50 metres underground. During maturation, Mando Diao's album from that period was played there—an unusual element of a project deliberately built around music.

Juniper and citrus mingle with cloudberry, mango and oak. Fruity acidity lends freshness to the profile, while spices complement the fruit and wood notes. Rabadam can be enjoyed neat or used as a base for cocktails.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals pronounced juniper and cloudberry notes with woodland and floral qualities. Fresh floral impressions are joined by a hint of citrus and subtle spice.
• Palate: On the palate, dry juniper gives way to gentle berry sweetness. The gin is full-bodied, with spices and a delicate herbal nuance.
• Finish: The finish lingers, bringing sweet and spicy impressions together in an even balance.

Distillery/Bottler:

During a stay together in a mountain cabin in 1998, eight friends came up with the idea of making a distinctive Swedish malt whisky. They founded Mackmyra Svensk Whisky in 1999. Locally grown barley, spring water and Swedish oak were among the foundations of their project. Maturation in the old Bodås mine also became part of their whisky production.

Mackmyra has also produced gin since 2017. For Rabadam, the company combined its work with casks with Mando Diao's musical concept. Mackmyra Svensk Whisky produced the gin in Sweden and bottled it at 43% in bottles containing 0.5 litres.
