Special Features:

Lychee gives this Belgian organic gin its distinctive fruity character. The recipe also includes cherry, orange peel, basil, rosemary, star anise and juniper berries. Its base consists of organic grain alcohol and water from the High Fens. The gin is distilled and bottled in Belgium.

Panda is distilled six times and contains neither sugar nor additives. It has an alcohol content of 40% and comes in a 0.7-litre bottle. Its organic certification is provided by Certisys.

Fruity aromas sit alongside herbal freshness and spicy juniper notes. For a gin and tonic, combine one part Panda with three parts Indian tonic over ice; the gin is also suitable for cocktails or serving on ice.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, lychee and cherry combine with fresh orange peel, juniper and aromatic herbs. Star anise adds a delicate spicy accent.
• Palate: The gin is smooth and balanced on the palate. Lychee, juicy fruit and fresh citrus notes meet basil, rosemary, spicy star anise and juniper.
• Finish: Delicate fruit notes, aromatic herbs and juniper linger through the long, harmonious finish. A subtle spiciness accompanies the aftertaste.

Distillery/Bottler:

Panda began as a joint project between four friends. After eight months of recipe trials, macerations and tastings, the gin was launched in 2017. The first experiments took place in a small workshop with a 30-litre still. During development, the Panda team worked with the Radermacher distillery and its master distiller, Bernard Zacharias.

The Radermacher distillery is located in Raeren, in the German-speaking east of Belgium. Its history began in 1836, when farmer Peter Radermacher used his own mill to process grain from his fields into juniper spirits. Today, Bernard Zacharias and his daughter Line continue the family tradition in its fifth and sixth generations. During the expansion from 2021 to 2022, production and food safety were modernised; part of the investment also went towards reducing the carbon footprint.
