Poltergeist Citrus brings a distinct citrus emphasis to Callington Mill’s gin range. Produced in small batches, it shares its botanical base with Poltergeist Unfiltered but has its own, more citrus-driven profile. Its botanicals include juniper, cardamom, coriander, lime and orange. The gin is bottled at 48% in 0.7-litre bottles.

Alongside its citrus freshness, earthy and spicy accents shape its character. Serve it over ice, with tonic or with soda; a lemon wedge complements the gin and tonic.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, lemon, lime and fresh citrus peel meet the warmth of Tasmanian pepper berries. Candied fruit, orange blossom and orange sorbet add further notes, accompanied by delicate floral tones and a hint of lime cake.
• Palate: Juicy orange and zesty lime lead on the palate, supported by botanical notes and subtle spice. The texture is rich, slightly oily and coats the palate.
• Finish: The long finish remains soft and citrus-led. Candied peel and mild spice linger with gentle warmth, while juniper appears as a delicate nuance. The finish feels clean and refreshing.

Distillery/Bottler:

Callington Mill Distillery is located in Oatlands, Tasmania. Poltergeist’s history goes back to Shene Distillery, where Damian Mackey developed the original recipe. When Shene was sold to Lark, Callington Mill acquired the rights to the gin brand and its stocks. John Ibrahim, owner of Callington Mill and formerly a shareholder in Shene, connects these two chapters of its history.

The original Poltergeist recipe uses twelve botanicals, including Tasmanian lemon myrtle, macadamia nuts and mountain pepper berries, alongside internationally sourced spices and roots. This combination of local and imported ingredients forms the brand’s foundation; the Citrus version adds its own citrus emphasis.
