Special Features:

Wild clover takes a more prominent role in this special edition than in the classic Shortcross Gin. Rademon Estate Distillery developed it specifically for members of the Craft Gin Club. The recipe includes juniper, coriander, orange and lemon peel, elderberries, elderflowers, apples, cinnamon, cassia and wild clover, alongside other undisclosed botanicals. The gin is made with a wheat spirit base and bottled at 46%.

The pronounced clover influence gives this edition a floral, herbaceous character. Impressions of flower-filled meadows, wild berries and grass add to the profile. Alongside the classic gin spices, plant-derived aromas therefore take centre stage.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Pronounced juniper and coriander emerge on the nose, accompanied by citrus zest and green apple. Green herbal tones and a light floral note complete the aromas.
• Palate: An intense herbal tea note unfolds on the palate alongside juniper, lemon peel, bitter orange peel and plenty of coriander. Dried flowers join them, with hints of rosehip and celery appearing at the back of the palate. A distinct alcoholic warmth persists.
• Finish: Juniper, coriander and clover remain perceptible throughout the lingering finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

Fiona and David Boyd-Armstrong founded Rademon Estate Distillery in 2012 on their estate in County Down, Northern Ireland. The estate's woods and gardens provide some of the botanicals: wild clover, elderflowers and elderberries are gathered there, while apples come from the walled garden. The water also comes from the estate's own well. The Shortcross brand name refers to nearby Crossgar, whose name roughly means “short cross”.

The original distilling equipment comprises a copper pot still with a capacity of 450 litres and two columns, each with seven plates. This combination allows the separation and concentration of aromas to be controlled during distillation. The distillery's work also includes filling the bottles by hand and sealing them with wax.
