Hop blossoms and malt connect this Munich Dry Gin with Munich’s brewing tradition. They are among the 13 organically grown botanicals that shape this THE DUKE classic. Alongside juniper, the recipe includes coriander, lemon peel, angelica root, ginger, lavender flowers, cubeb pepper and orange blossom.

Lemon peel contributes freshness, while lavender adds a light floral note and ginger brings subtle spice. Juniper remains the defining element. The miniature contains 0.05 litres of gin bottled at 45% and comes without gift packaging. It works equally well in a Gin & Tonic, Munich Mule or Negroni.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Pronounced juniper aromas meet spicy and floral impressions on the nose. Fresh notes balance the bouquet.
• Palate: Sweetish floral nuances combine with a persistent juniper note on the palate. Citrus, gentle spice and a delicate touch of lavender complement the soft mouthfeel.
• Finish: Juniper and spice remain present in the long finish. Malty notes and sweet hop blossoms complement the floral, bittersweet aftertaste, with a subtle trace of liquorice.

Distillery/Bottler:

THE DUKE began in a Munich student flat in 2008; today, the distillery operates at the Gläserne Manufaktur in Aschheim near Munich. Its name recalls Henry the Lion, the founder of Munich. With Munich Dry Gin, the distillery developed its own style designation for its Bavarian-inspired dry gin; the term has no legal protection.

Production begins with the botanicals steeping overnight in a mixture of alcohol and water. This is followed by double distillation in copper stills; the process also includes two filtrations. After dilution with water to bottling strength, the spirit rests in the cellar for four to six weeks. The gin is bottled and labelled in Aschheim before the bottles are packed by hand.
