In Tonka Gin Espresso, coffee joins the combination of juniper and tonka bean. Bold espresso and roasted notes take the lead, while tonka bean contributes vanilla-like sweetness. Delicate cocoa notes add another dimension to the flavour.

The gin is distilled in small batches in Germany. The bottles are numbered by hand and each contains 0.5 litres at 42% alcohol. It can be enjoyed neat as a digestif, in a gin and tonic or in an Espresso Martini.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Tonka bean gives the nose warmth and delicate hints of vanilla and almonds.
• Palate: The gin is full-bodied on the palate. Bold espresso combines with the gentle sweetness of tonka bean.
• Finish: The long, full-bodied finish reveals soft vanilla notes. Tonka bean leaves a warm, slightly sweet impression, accompanied by a delicate roasted nuance.

Distillery/Bottler:

Tonka Gin is the work of Daniel and Serap Soumikh's family business in Hamburg. Daniel founded the brand in September 2014, and his wife joined a year later. The inspiration for a gin with tonka bean came during a trip to Spain together, where the couple also encountered the spice in the bar scene.

Developing the first finished gin took almost two years. Bartenders and a distillery helped Daniel Soumikh turn his idea into a recipe. He presented the first bottles on 26 September 2014. The range has since expanded to include further variants, among them the combination of tonka bean and espresso.
