Glen Scotia 9 y.o. - Heavily Peated Ribera Del Duero Finish Campbeltown Malts Festival 2025

Special features: This limited special release was presented on the occasion of the Campbeltown Malts Festival 2025. The 9-year-old single malt was distilled from heavily peated malt and initially matured in first-fill bourbon casks. It then received a five-month finish in red wine casks from the Spanish Ribera del Duero, giving it a special depth and complexity. It was bottled at cask strength with 54.3% ABV, without coloring and without chill filtration.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nose: A distinctive maritime character, overlaid with peat smoke, reflecting the typical Glen Scotia style.
  • Palate: Ripe red fruits, juicy blackberries, and a hint of licorice that add depth to the complex character.
  • Finish: Long and complex, with a harmonious connection of smoke and fruity notes.

Distillery/Bottler: The Glen Scotia Distillery, founded in 1832, is one of the few remaining active distilleries in Campbeltown, Scotland. It is known for its characteristic single malts that reflect the maritime influence and smoky notes of the region.
