Special features: This limited single cask bottling of GlenAllachie was created exclusively for the German market. The whisky matured for 14 years in a bourbon barrel from the renowned Koval Distillery in Chicago, USA. By using small 113-liter barrels, the single malt was able to interact intensely with the wood, resulting in a unique flavor diversity. With only 166 bottles filled, this whisky is a true collector's item.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Inviting aromas of vanilla and butterscotch, accompanied by peppery oak. Fruity notes of orchard fruits, white mocha, and dried bananas add depth and complexity.
- Palate: Velvety buttercream and sweet vanilla blend with spicy gingerbread. Grilled honeycomb, muscovado sugar, and light syrup enhance the tasting experience with an enticing sweetness.
- Finish: A long-lasting echo of cotton candy and brandy-soaked orchard fruits harmoniously rounds off the tasting experience.
Distillery/Bottler: The GlenAllachie Distillery, founded in 1967 in the Scottish Speyside, is known for its high-quality single malts. Under the leadership of Master Distiller Billy Walker, who took over the distillery in 2017, the focus has increasingly been placed on maturation in various types of casks to give the whiskies more depth and complexity.
