Special Features:

Distilled in 1996, the whisky matured for 28 years in refill American hogshead number 110768. Gordon & MacPhail bottled it at cask strength of 47.1% on 10 March 2025, yielding 182 bottles from the single cask. The whisky is neither coloured nor chill-filtered.

The profile is distinctly fruit-led: grapefruit, ripe apricot and floral notes open the aromatic display. Sweet citrus fruit, syrupy pear and white chocolate follow on the palate. Ripe honeydew melon and subtle pepper spice lead into a medium-length finish.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, ripe apricot and vibrant grapefruit combine with floral honeysuckle notes and a touch of vanilla.
• Palate: On the palate, sweet citrus fruit and syrupy pears meet the delicate creaminess of white chocolate and fine oak spice.
• Finish: The medium-length finish combines ripe honeydew melon and subtle pepper spice with sweet malt and a creamy texture.

Distillery/Bottler:

The Glen Grant Distillery in Rothes, Speyside, distilled the single malt for this bottling in 1996. The distillery uses tall, slender pot stills and water-cooled purifiers, which help shape the light, floral character of its new make.

Gordon & MacPhail selected the cask, oversaw its maturation and bottled the whisky independently. Created by George Urquhart in the 1960s, the Connoisseurs Choice range gave individual Scottish distilleries a platform and now also includes cask-strength bottlings.
