Special Features:

This Speyside single malt was distilled in 1994 and matured for 31 years in the single refill American Hogshead No. 58445. Gordon & MacPhail bottled the whisky on 24 April 2025 for the Connoisseurs Choice range. Batch 24/221 yielded just 126 bottles.

The release has a natural cask strength of 41.9% ABV and was neither chill-filtered nor coloured. The 0.7-litre bottle is presented in a premium box.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Bright citrus notes appear first on the nose, followed by the sweet fruit of pears preserved in syrup. Delicate blossoms add a floral accent.
• Palate: On the palate, rich honey combines with red apple and delicately bitter orange zest. Vanilla and a trace of lavender complement the smooth character.
• Finish: The long finish is carried by toasted oak and assorted nut notes. It ends elegantly and dry.

Distillery/Bottler:

The Glenlivet Distillery traces its origins to George Smith, who became the first distiller in the Parish of Glenlivet to obtain a licence in 1824. Its history therefore forms part of the early development of legal whisky production in Speyside.

Gordon & MacPhail was founded in 1895 as a grocery and spirits merchant in the heart of Speyside. Over several generations, the Urquhart family developed particular expertise in selecting spirits and maturing them for extended periods in oak casks. George Urquhart created Connoisseurs Choice in 1968 to present single malts from different Scottish distilleries as individual bottlings. For this Glenlivet, Gordon & MacPhail oversaw the whisky's maturation and bottling.
