This 15-year-old Linkwood from Gordon & MacPhail's Distillery Labels range matured in first-fill and refill sherry casks. Alongside its sherry character, it offers fresh berry and citrus notes as well as sweet and spicy impressions. The single malt is bottled at 46%, with its natural colour and without chill filtration. The bottle contains 0.7 litres and comes in gift packaging.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose is fresh and fruity: dry sherry accompanies ripe strawberries and raspberries, contrasted by a light lemon note. Bitter orange marmalade then emerges, mingling with warm cinnamon notes and toffee.
• Palate: On the palate, the whisky is intensely sweet at first, becoming milder over time. Cinnamon and clove provide gently warming spice. Creamy white chocolate and a juicy mandarin note then develop.
• Finish: The finish is medium in length and rounded. Fresh herbal notes combine with a slightly drying impression of cocoa powder.

Distillery/Bottler:

Linkwood Distillery lies on the outskirts of Elgin in Speyside. Peter Brown founded it in 1821, and production began four years later. In 1971, a second distillery with four stills was built beside the older facility. The two sites were known as Linkwood A and Linkwood B. The older site ceased regular operations in 1985, and its buildings were demolished in 2012.

Linkwood and Gordon & MacPhail have worked together for more than a century. The distillery produces the new-make spirit, while Gordon & MacPhail, as an independent bottler, oversees its maturation in its own casks. The company sources casks from sherry bodegas in Jerez and cooperages in Kentucky, among others. The Distillery Labels range honours longstanding relationships with Scottish distilleries through individual historic distillery labels. For this Linkwood, Gordon & MacPhail uses first-fill and refill sherry casks.
