This 15-year-old bottling combines Mortlach’s robust Speyside style with Gordon & MacPhail’s cask selection. The whisky was matured in first-fill and refill sherry casks and bottled at 46% for the Distillery Labels range.

The character is smooth and full-bodied: a fresh, malty opening with a delicate sherry influence, toffee, sweet liquorice and orange marmalade gives way to chocolate, cherry, blackcurrant jam and creamy vanilla. Malt and citrus define the finish.

Mortlach was founded in Speyside in 1823. The distillery continues to use its unusual 2.81-times distillation process and is known for its robust style.

For this bottling, Gordon & MacPhail matured the new make spirit in first-fill and refill sherry casks before bottling the whisky at 46% after 15 years. Through the Distillery Labels range, the company celebrates relationships with selected distilleries that have developed over more than a century, as well as its maturation of entrusted spirits in Elgin.
