Special Features:

This Rosebank comes from a single first-fill bourbon barrel and belongs to Gordon & MacPhail’s third Recollection Series. The series brings together six rare single-cask bottlings from closed or long-dormant distilleries; their casks were made to the bottler’s specifications.

Distilled on 3 July 1991, the whisky matured for 32 years in cask 2114. Gordon & MacPhail bottled it on 18 June 2024 at 51.2%; the cask yielded 141 bottles. The whisky is not chill-filtered and contains no added colouring. It comes in a premium box.

Its floral and citrus character is joined by honeyed sweetness, milk chocolate and vanilla fudge. Guava, passion fruit, pear and apple give this long-matured whisky a distinctly fruity side.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, broom blossoms and lime peel mingle with a hint of milk chocolate. Dried banana emerges alongside a delicate peanut note.
• Palate: On the palate, honeycomb sweetness gives way to subtle guava and passion fruit. Poached pear and vanilla fudge follow.
• Finish: The finish is creamy and medium-bodied, with apple and tropical fruit. A delicate oak note lingers.

Distillery/Bottler:

Rosebank was founded around 1817 in Falkirk, beside the Forth and Clyde Canal. The site offered access to water and transport routes; the triple distillation that became a hallmark of the distillery produced a light, fruity whisky. Rosebank closed in 1993, so this bottling comes from its earlier production era.

Ian Macleod Distillers acquired Rosebank in 2017 and rebuilt the distillery; distillation resumed there in June 2023. Gordon & MacPhail is the independent bottler of this historic Rosebank. Founded in Elgin in 1895, the family-owned company selects spirits, matures them in its own casks and releases them as single malts. Cask 2114 appeared in its Private Collection as part of the third Recollection Series.
