Special features: The Elsburn Distillery Edition 2025 Batch 005 is presented as a limited release with 4,043 bottles. This Harz single malt matured entirely in first-fill sherry casks that were previously seasoned with Pedro Ximénez, Palo Cortado, and Oloroso sherry. It was bottled at 46% vol. The whisky is non-chillfiltered and contains no coloring, highlighting its natural quality.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Lush and complex with aromas of raisins, mandarins, peaches, tea cake, candied fruits, and half-baked caramel cookie dough. Underpinned by spices and solid oak, complemented by fine caramel and toffee notes. A hint of bitter orange rounds off the bouquet.
• Palate: Multi-layered with notes of fruity raisin cake, vanilla, and caramel. Delicate aromas of mandarins, cake spices, and toffee unfold, while fine oak notes and baked plum flavors round out the taste.
• Finish: Medium-long and gently fading, with the aromas lingering for several minutes.

Distillery/Bottler: The Hercynian Distilling Co., also known as Hammerschmiede, is located in the Harz, Germany. Since the 1980s, the family has been producing high-quality spirits in the renovated hammer forge. Known for their single malts under various brands such as Elsburn, The Alrik, and Willowburn, the distillery experiments with different cask maturations, including sherry, port, and marsala casks.
