Special Features:

This 18-year-old Highland single malt initially spent 14 years in American white oak ex-bourbon casks. A further 4 years in Matusalem-Oloroso sherry casks from González Byass deepen its fruity, chocolatey and spicy character. During the final 12 months, the sherry casks were stored upright.

The extended second maturation brings together orange marmalade and chocolate-covered raisins with coffee, nutmeg and spicy oak. The whisky is full-bodied. Additional aromas of pine, rosemary and lemongrass contrast with the sweet and fruity impressions.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, vanilla and dark chocolate combine with orange marmalade and sweet liquorice.
• Palate: On the palate, chocolate-covered raisins and citrus fruits meet pronounced coffee notes. Nutmeg and other spices complement the flavour.
• Finish: Fruit compote and toffee linger in the balanced finish, accompanied by floral notes of violet and jasmine.

Distillery/Bottler:

The Dalmore Distillery stands on the Cromarty Firth in the northern Highlands. In 1839, Alexander Matheson commissioned the conversion of a former mill and its outbuildings into a distillery. Its distinctive equipment includes four flat-topped wash stills and spirit stills with cooled necks. This cooling encourages rising vapours to condense and flow back during distillation.

For sherry maturation, The Dalmore works with the Spanish sherry house González Byass, which supplies the Matusalem-Oloroso casks. The brand belongs to Whyte & Mackay Ltd.; this single malt is an official bottling from The Dalmore.
