Special Features:

Oak-cask maturation and a sweet, fruity character define this Tullibardine from Duncan Taylor's Battlehill range. The Highland single malt matured for eight years between distillation in 2013 and bottling in 2021. Ripe fruit meets vanilla and caramel, while herbal notes provide a counterpoint to the sweetness.

The whisky has an alcohol content of 46% and is bottled without chill filtration or added colouring. The bottle contains 0.7 litres.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, ripe pears, citrus fruit and plums mingle with vanilla and toffee. Subtle herbal notes add another dimension.
• Palate: The palate offers ripe fruit and vanilla custard, accompanied by caramel and spices.
• Finish: The medium-length finish is distinctly herbal and fruity. Warm, sweet notes of vanilla and honey round it out.

Distillery/Bottler:

Tullibardine is located in Blackford, Perthshire, opposite the Ochil Hills. William Delme-Evans converted a former brewery site into a whisky distillery here, using the Danny Burn as its water source. Today, its equipment includes a Porteus mill, ten washbacks and four copper pot stills. An on-site cooperage and warehouses complete the production facilities.

Independent bottler Duncan Taylor is responsible for the Battlehill range. The company was founded in Glasgow in 1938 as a cask broker and trading business. A significant part of its cask stocks was assembled by later owner Abe Rosenberg, who collected whiskies from various distilleries from the 1960s onwards. Now based in Huntly, Duncan Taylor specialises in trading, storing, maturing, blending and bottling whisky.
