Sherry Serenade brings together three types of sherry cask to conclude Arran's Signature Series. This nine-year-old, unpeated single malt matured exclusively in first-fill casks previously used for Oloroso, Pedro-Ximénez and Amontillado. Its entire maturation therefore took place in sherry casks, rather than involving a subsequent finish.

Distillery Manager Stewart Bowman selected the whiskies for this fourth release. The worldwide edition comprises 13,971 bottles. The whisky was bottled in 2026 at 50%, without chill filtration or added colouring.

Alongside dark fruit notes, dark chocolate, toasted nuts and warming spices shape the character. Bright citrus notes and a subtle coastal impression provide a contrast.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Dried figs and dark raisins mingle with toasted nuts and polished oak. A hint of leather adds to the aroma.
• Palate: The whisky feels full-bodied and velvety on the palate. Dark sugar syrup and toffee meet chocolate-coated cherries, walnuts and espresso.
• Finish: Toasted oak and caramelised orange give way to nutty sherry notes and gentle cocoa on the finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

Arran is made in Lochranza on the Scottish island of the same name. Its water comes from Loch na Davie in the hills behind the distillery and flows down into the valley via the Easan Biorach stream. The distillery uses wooden washbacks for fermentation; the fermented wort is then distilled twice in copper pot stills.

Cask selection is central to the distillery's approach: previously filled oak casks impart colour and character to the spirit during maturation. Arran uses no added colouring and does not chill-filter its malts bottled above 43%. This approach is intended to preserve delicate aroma and flavour compounds.
