Special Features:

The Paris Edition 2026 brings together whiskies from 14 casks: first- and second-fill bourbon barrels, Oloroso sherry hogsheads and virgin American white oak casks. This lightly peated composition is bottled at 50.5%.

Six paintings by Claude Monet adorn the labels of this edition, while the whisky inside remains the same. The Rouge version features “The Water Lily Pond” from 1900. Of the total release of 2,484 bottles, 414 bear the red label, numbered from 1,243 to 1,656. The 0.7-litre bottle comes in gift packaging.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The supple nose combines almost candied lemon with pear, mirabelle plum, coconut, pine resin and almond syrup. With aeration, delicate ginger and nutmeg notes unfold.
• Palate: The whisky is delicate and lively on the palate. Lemon, apple jelly and candied pear are followed by fresh alfalfa and malt notes, then white grapes, medlar and yellow kiwi.
• Finish: The soft, full finish combines coconut and rice pudding with pineapple, plantain and chalky minerality. Liquorice, almonds, cashews and geranium flowers emerge as the finish continues.

Distillery/Bottler:

Ichiro Akuto founded Chichibu in Saitama Prefecture, around 100 kilometres northwest of Tokyo. The distillery, which belongs to Venture Whisky Limited, began operating in February 2008. Akuto’s connection to whisky making runs through his family history: his grandfather founded the now-closed Hanyu distillery.

The original Chichibu distillery houses Japanese Mizunara oak washbacks and two small copper pot stills made by Scottish manufacturer Forsyths. The location experiences hot, humid summers and cold winters. These pronounced temperature changes influence the whisky’s maturation in its casks.
