Glendronach 40 y.o. - Oloroso & PX Sherry Casks
Special features: The Glendronach 40 years is an exquisite original bottling produced in the Highlands of Scotland. It matures for four decades in a combination of Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks from Jerez, resulting in a complex and nuanced flavor profile. With an alcohol content of 43.9%, this single malt is not smoky and offers a rich tasting experience. Bottled in an elegant premium box, it reflects the luxurious character of the brand.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: The nose reveals lush notes of black cherries, plum compote, and blackberries, accompanied by hints of sherry-soaked chocolate cake and aromatic coffee essence.
- Palate: The palate impresses intensely with a crescendo of blackcurrant and blackberry compote, interwoven with delicious plum and raisin wine, as well as nuances of velvety cinnamon chocolate espresso.
- Finish: The finish is long, complex, and exceptionally deep.
Distillery/Bottler: The Glendronach Distillery was founded in 1826 by James Allardes and is located in the Forgue Valley near Huntly, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. This distillery is known for its whiskies, which mature exclusively in Spanish Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks from Jerez. The Glendronach 40 years is an example of the quality and richness of the distillery, characterized by long maturation in selected casks.
