Kyrö Whisky of Blood - Malted Reye - Game of Thrones

Volume: 0.7 litres | Alcohol content: 46% | Chill filtration: No | Colouring: No

Special Features:

Whisky of Blood is a limited Game of Thrones edition from Kyrö dedicated to House Targaryen. Released in 2026, this Finnish whisky is made entirely from malted rye and matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and French oak casks. Its non-smoky character brings together fruity sweetness, cereal notes and subtle rye spice.

The bottle and gift box evoke the world of Westeros through map motifs, red splashes and gold accents. The box is made from FSC-certified cardboard. The whisky is bottled at 46% in a 0.7-litre bottle, without chill filtration or added colouring.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose combines light cereal notes with tonka bean and sweet chestnut. Hints of apple and apricot, along with beeswax, round out the aroma.
• Palate: On the palate, fruity sweetness combines with subtle rye spice. Roasted chestnuts, crème brûlée and toasted cereal add further notes.
• Finish: Rye, tonka bean and vanilla linger in the long, spicy finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

The idea for Kyrö emerged during a sauna evening when five friends tasted rye whisky together. It developed into a distillery housed in a former dairy in Isokyrö. Before their own equipment was ready, the founders used the still at Beer Hunters in Pori for their first distillation trial. The distillery began operating in the old dairy in 2014.

Finnish wholegrain rye is the common raw material behind Kyrö's spirits. While the first whisky casks were maturing, the team also began making gin. Their own Kyrö Malt Whisky followed in 2019. Whisky of Blood continues this focus on rye with its own cask combination within the Game of Thrones collaboration.
