This Speymalt presents Macallan as an independent single-cask bottling by Gordon & MacPhail. Distilled in 2006, the single malt matured in a cask selected by the bottler. In 2026, the whisky from cask 9654 was bottled at 46% in 0.7-litre bottles.

Fruity sweetness and spicy wood notes define its character. The whisky is not smoky. It contains no added colouring and comes in black gift packaging with gold-coloured accents.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, fragrant orange notes mingle with cooked-down raisins and oak.
• Palate: The whisky is soft and sweet on the palate. Light fruitcake, brown sugar and cinnamon complement one another.
• Finish: Red berries and hazelnut remain present throughout the lingering finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

Macallan was founded in Speyside in 1824. The distillery draws its water from the Ringorm Burn and uses small stills that produce a robust, full-bodied new-make spirit. For the Speymalt range, Gordon & MacPhail handles cask selection and the maturation of Macallan spirit.

Gordon & MacPhail is a family business based in Elgin whose history began in 1895. Over generations, the company arranged for new-make spirit from Scottish distilleries to be filled into its own carefully selected casks. These then matured either at the respective distillery or in the company's own warehouses in Elgin. In 2024, Gordon & MacPhail stopped filling new casks at other distilleries, but it still holds extensive stocks of maturing whisky. Its long-term focus is on its own distilleries, Benromach and The Cairn.
