Special Features:

Milroy's Original draws on a house blend recipe from the 1960s. Matured in oak casks, this Scotch combines fruit and dessert notes with spicy accents. It is suitable for drinking neat as well as mixing.

The green bottle bears a diamond-shaped label. The whisky is bottled in Scotland at 40%, and the bottle contains 0.7 litres. No colouring is added.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The whisky opens with gentle aromas of fudge and poached pear. Chocolate-covered raisins, orange peel and coconut then emerge. Sweet pastries develop as it opens up, before clove and cinnamon follow.
• Palate: On the palate, the whisky is gently warming and buttery. Vanilla ice cream appears first, followed by apricots, jam-filled sponge cake and mild black pepper. Milk chocolate and fondant icing accompany these impressions.
• Finish: Peppery cinnamon spice and oak notes linger in the medium-length finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

Jack and Wallace Milroy founded Milroy's of Soho in London in 1964. The business began as a blended whisky specialist and developed into a meeting place for whisky enthusiasts. Milroy's is still based on Greek Street in Soho, where it combines a specialist shop, whisky bar and tastings.

Its own range includes selected spirits bottled under the Milroy's name, as well as rare older whiskies. Selecting and bottling its own whiskies therefore forms an important part of the London business alongside retailing.
