R.L.Seales Finest Babados Rum 10 y.o. Neue EAN

Volume: 0.7 litres | Alcohol content: 46%

Special Features:

Tropical maturation in former bourbon casks shapes this ten-year-old rum from Barbados. R.L. Seale's Finest combines pot still and column still distillates from Foursquare Distillery. The rum matures on Barbados for at least ten years before being bottled at 46% as Export Proof.

Its full, dry palate brings together caramel, roasted nuts and spices, accompanied by subtle fruit notes. The dark, asymmetrical bottle with its tilted neck recalls an old leather flask.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Vanilla and coconut mingle with oak and gentle spice on the nose, alongside a nutty note.
• Palate: The rum feels full and dry on the palate. Caramel, roasted nuts and spices are accompanied by subtle fruit notes.
• Finish: The long finish combines wood, spice and natural sweetness. A hint of roasted almonds lingers.

Distillery/Bottler:

Behind R.L. Seale's is the family company R L Seale & Co, founded by Reginald Leon Seale in 1926. His great-grandson Richard Seale represents the fourth generation in the rum business and is Master Distiller and Master Blender at Foursquare Distillery. He played a key role in building the new distillery at the historic Foursquare site, which was completed in 1996.

Foursquare is one of the Caribbean's independent, family-run rum producers. The distillery combines distillation in copper pot stills with a double-column still system. Richard Seale's work also encompasses precise fermentation control and the use of vacuum distillation.
