Barr an Uisce Wicklow Hills 0.7 l

Special features: The blend combines 21% single malt with 79% single grain whiskey and initially matured in first-fill Kentucky bourbon barrels. This was followed by a three-month finish in Oloroso sherry casks, which gives the composition an interesting depth. For the drinking strength, water from the family spring in County Wicklow is used – a tribute to the local origin and the traditional whiskey process.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nose: Vanilla, caramel, fruity accents, and dark chocolate
  • Palate: Fruity notes, vanilla, roasted nuts, caramel
  • Finish: Medium length with a pleasant fruit sweetness

Distillery/Bottler: Barr an Uisce Irish Whiskey takes its name from an Irish place name in County Wicklow, near the founder Ian Jones's hometown. The brand honors the Irish tradition, particularly the social center of the pub and the early history of whiskey production, which was shaped by monks with the term “Uisce Beatha” (water of life). The focus is on nurturing local roots and a craft-oriented production.
