Special features: This miniature set combines three single malt Irish whiskeys that have matured in different virgin oak casks: Irish oak (Quercus petraea), European oak (Quercus robur), and American white oak (Quercus alba). The Croithlí distillery, founded in 2020, uses an Irish large distillery as a base but completes the whiskeys with a finish in the warehouse of the Crolly Distillery in Donegal. The different types of wood give each dram individual and distinctive wood aromas, making this tasting a varied flavor journey.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Sessile with sweet vanilla, caramel, green apples, and lemon sorbet; Quercus Alba with apricot, cherry blossom, and nutmeg; Quercus Robur with red currants and winter spices like ginger and clove.
• Palate: Sessile shows sweet, woody oak and grape notes; Quercus Alba surprises with green fruit notes, wood, and vanilla; Quercus Robur is fruity-spicy with pronounced wood notes.
• Finish: Sessile ends in crème brûlée, black pepper, and tannins; Quercus Alba with a dry-spicy, complex finish; Quercus Robur offers a dry finish with wood smoke and dark chocolate.

Distillery/Bottler: The young distillery Croithlí was founded in 2020 and uses an established Irish large distillery as its production base. The finish takes place at the Crolly Distillery in Donegal, known for its special cask maturation in different virgin oak casks. This combination merges traditional Irish whiskey craftsmanship with innovative maturation approaches that significantly influence the character of the whiskey.
