Special Features:

Hinch Single Malt is made entirely from malted barley. A 72-hour fermentation is followed by triple distillation in swan-neck pot stills.

Carefully selected bourbon casks and first-fill sherry hogsheads are used for its four-year maturation. The bourbon casks are made from American oak, while Oloroso casks provide the sherry component. Bottled at 43%, the single malt is smooth and balanced overall.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose opens with candied orange, followed by warm ginger; honeyed sweetness rounds out the citrus and spice notes.
• Palate: On the palate, caramelised sweetness meets a fresh bite of pome fruit. Toffee apple and peach syrup then emerge, with buttery biscuits and a full-bodied mouthfeel forming the backdrop.
• Finish: Citrus and honey linger on the tongue throughout the long finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

Founded in 2016, Hinch Distillery stands on the historic Killaney Estate outside Ballynahinch in County Down. Its name is derived from Ballynahinch, whose Irish name means “town of the island”.

The purpose-built facility brings milling, mashing, distillation and bottling together under one roof. Hinch Single Malt is one of the distillery’s own single malts, distilled and matured on site.
