The band's frontman, Shane MacGowan, notorious for his drug use, has already expressed his affinity for the water of life with songs like "Streams of Whiskey" and "Whiskey, you’re the Devil." Over 30 years after the band's founding, an Irish whiskey is now being launched in collaboration with West Cork Distillers, a distillery founded in 2003 in Skibbereen (West Cork, Ireland).

After the blended Pogues whiskey, the West Cork distillery is now bringing a The Pogues Single Malt Whiskey to the market. Produced in small batches, flavors of chocolate-covered peanuts and roasted grain seeds promise the popular nutty-malty character that was also experienced with the blend. With The Pogues Single Malt Whiskey, you get a whiskey that impresses with tremendous depth and character, while the triple distillation gives the whiskey a pleasant smoothness.
