Special features: Velvet Cap is a blended whiskey that matures in an extraordinary combination of bourbon, rye/stout, and port wine casks after the various whiskeys are blended together. The use of rye/stout casks in a rotating system is an innovative approach by Master Distiller John Wilcox and gives the whiskey a special complexity. The recipe is based on historical insights from the Blackwater Distillery, which traces traditional maturation back to the 1960s, thereby reinterpreting a piece of Irish whiskey history.
