Special Features:

Copper Pot draws on the combination of Single Pot Still and Single Malt that was highly regarded in 19th-century Irish whiskey. The blend consists of 60% Single Pot Still and 40% Single Malt, with no grain whiskey. The whiskey is made entirely from malted and unmalted barley.

The whiskey is triple-distilled, unpeated and matured in charred American oak casks that previously held bourbon. This maturation provides the framework for its fruity, sweet and gently spicy character.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose opens with fresh apple, accompanied by vanilla and honey. Soft bourbon-cask notes and a touch of malt form the background.
• Palate: The whiskey feels lively and smooth on the palate. Orchard fruits, ginger and honey mingle with butterscotch and toffee, while toasted oak and malt add further depth.
• Finish: The finish is long and elegant. Milk chocolate and dark chocolate meet delicate almond notes, with dry grain, green apple and spicy ginger accompanying the lingering close.

Distillery/Bottler:

Walsh Whiskey was founded in 1999 by Bernard and Rosemary Walsh as a family business. The company developed Writers’ Tears and works with selected matured distillates and casks for its whiskeys; Copper Pot combines Single Pot Still with Single Malt. Writers’ Tears is part of the Amber Beverage Group’s brand portfolio. Its name pays tribute to Ireland’s writers and poets.
