Special Features:

Highland Park Heather is the first limited release in the revamped Cask Strength range. It is made exclusively from barley smoked over Orkney peat. The whisky matures in first-fill sherry-seasoned European and American oak casks as well as selected refill casks, and is bottled at its natural cask strength of 63.6%.

Heather-rich peat from Hobbister Moor shapes the floral, perfumed smoke. The first-fill sherry-seasoned oak casks contribute pronounced sweetness, while the selected refill casks round out the composition. Its deep amber colour comes naturally from cask maturation; the whisky contains no added colouring and is not chill-filtered.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, fragrant campfire smoke, vanilla pod and brandy butter mingle with a note of sherry, dried fruit and heather.
• Palate: The whisky is rich and oily on the palate, with creamy marshmallow and macadamia nut meeting peppery spice and floral smoke.
• Finish: The long, warming finish leaves lingering notes of sweet vanilla, perfumed smoke and persistent spice.

Distillery/Bottler:

Highland Park is based in Kirkwall on Orkney and traces the distillery’s history to 1798. Four stills and traditional dunnage warehouses with earthen floors are among the defining features of its operation.

Some of the malted barley is turned by hand at the distillery and dried in two traditional kilns using smoke from heather-rich peat sourced from Hobbister Moor. Highland Park is part of Edrington’s brand portfolio.
