With the Island Peat Edition, Smoky Scot puts Orkney's gentler peat character centre stage. Heather-rich peat shapes fragrant smoke with floral and slightly earthy qualities. Honeyed sweetness, fruit and delicate spice remain discernible rather than being overwhelmed by the smoke.

The limited Orkney Release opens a series exploring the different peat styles of Scotland's islands. It complements the brand's more heavily peated Islay whisky with a softer island character. The edition was released on 15 September 2026 and is bottled at 46% with natural colour and without chill filtration. The bottle contains 0.7 litres.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, wild heather and gentle earthy notes mingle with smoke reminiscent of a distant campfire.
• Palate: On the palate, subtle herbal notes accompany the gentle smoke. Lively citrus notes and honeysuckle add fruity and floral accents.
• Finish: The finish feels fresh and clean, with aromatic peat notes lingering.

Distillery/Bottler:

Smoky Scot is backed by Aceo Spirits, a family-owned spirits company. Its Speyside facilities include whisky warehouses, a bottling plant and its own distillery. Aceo also works with other producers and bonded warehouses, overseeing spirits from selection and bottling through to brand development.

Through Smoky Scot, Aceo explores the different expressions of peated island whiskies. While the original bottling comes from Islay, the Island Peat Edition extends the concept to other Scottish islands, beginning with Orkney.
