Hatozaki - Mizunara Cask Finish - Omakase Collection 6th Edition Blended Whisky

Volume: 0.7 litres | Alcohol content: 42% | Chill filtration: Yes | Colouring: No

Special Features:

For the limited sixth edition of the Hatozaki Omakase Collection, hand-selected bourbon, malt and grain whiskies are married in small batches. After maturation in ex-bourbon casks, the blend is finished in traditional Mizunara oak casks in Japan.

Vanilla and caramel meet coconut, ripe fruit and a subtle nuttiness. Cedarwood, sandalwood, ginger and further spice notes lead the sweet character into a dry, wood-driven conclusion.

The gift box contains one 0.7-litre bottle. The whisky is bottled at 42%, is chill-filtered and contains no added colouring.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose combines delicate vanilla and caramel with coconut, warm cedarwood and toasted spices, while a touch of ginger and ripe fruit completes the aroma.
• Palate: The whisky is soft and creamy on the palate, with vanilla and caramel meeting woody depth, mild spices, sandalwood and subtle nutty notes.
• Finish: The long, elegant finish remains dry and wood-driven, with lingering cedarwood, caramel sweetness and a touch of ginger.

Distillery/Bottler:

Hatozaki and the Kaikyō Distillery were established in 2017 on the initiative of Kimio Yonezawa. Selected malt whiskies are blended, further matured and bottled at the Kaikyō Distillery and the Miki production site in Hyōgo. As Master Distiller and Blender, Yonezawa is responsible for this sixth Omakase edition and composes its selected whisky components in small batches.
