Hibiki Japanese Harmony is Suntory’s Japanese blend with no age statement, bottled at 43%. It brings together malt and grain whiskies from Yamazaki, Hakushu and Chita. When it was introduced in 2015, its composition included at least ten whiskies matured in five different cask types. American white oak provides the foundation, complemented by sherry casks and Japanese Mizunara oak. Lightly smoky malt components add subtle accents. This softly balanced blend combines floral, fruity and woody impressions with restrained sweetness.
The bottle’s 24 facets refer to the 24 traditional Japanese seasons. Its label is made from traditional Echizen washi paper. Eriko Horiki created the paper design, while Tansetsu Ogino provided the calligraphy. The presentation thus also reflects the connection between nature and Japanese art.

Suntory’s whisky history began in 1923 with the construction of the Yamazaki distillery on the outskirts of Kyoto. Hakushu followed in 1973, in the forests of the Japanese Southern Alps. Both distilleries supply malt whiskies for Hibiki; the Chita distillery, founded in 1972 on the peninsula of the same name, contributes grain whisky. Their different locations and specialisations underpin the blends of the brand, which Suntory introduced in 1989.
Chief Blender Shinji Fukuyo developed Japanese Harmony around an American white oak foundation, complemented by sherry and Mizunara cask influences. Grain whisky from Chita acts as a link between the malt components. Japanese Harmony is an official bottling of the Hibiki brand.
