The gift set contains a 0.5-litre bottle of Nikka From The Barrel, two glasses and a pourer.

The recipe combines more than one hundred malt and grain whiskies. At its core are malt whiskies from Nikka’s two Japanese distilleries and Coffey Grain, complemented by a proportion of selected imported whiskies.

After blending, the whisky returns to the cask for several months. During this resting period, known as marriage, the different components integrate into a harmonious whole without losing the powerful character imparted by the high bottling strength.

The compact square bottle follows the “A Small Block” design concept and highlights the concentrated style of the whisky, which is bottled at 51.4%.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose combines robust oak, vanilla and chocolatey sweetness with orange peel and toasted grain notes.
• Palate: The whisky is creamy and sweet on the palate, while dry oak tannins accompany its firm, full-bodied texture.
• Finish: Wood, a bitter edge and delicate spice linger in the finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

Nikka traces its origins to Dai Nippon Kaju Co., Ltd., founded by Masataka Taketsuru in 1934. The Yoichi Distillery was completed that same year, and the company was renamed The Nikka Whisky Distilling Co., Ltd. in 1952.

The completion of the Miyagikyo Distillery in 1969 broadened Nikka’s foundation for creating blends with distinct profiles. From The Barrel was launched in 1985 and uses malt components from Yoichi and Miyagikyo alongside Nikka’s characteristic Coffey Grain.
