Special features: This limited rum from the closed Nine Leaves Distillery in Japan was aged for seven years in three 300-liter Armagnac casks. After the distillery's closure, La Maison & Velier acquired the entire stock and released this unique rum in a limited edition of 923 bottles.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Intense and complex with aromas of dried fruits such as plum, apricot, and fig, accompanied by notes of black honey, brown caramel, and vanilla. The cask aging in Armagnac barrels imparts nuances of fine wood, tobacco, and a hint of leather.
- Palate: Full-bodied and velvety with a balanced mix of sweet and spicy flavors. The aromas of dried fruits continue, complemented by notes of cocoa, lightly roasted coffee, and mild spices.
- Finish: Long and persistent with a warm aftertaste of bitter cocoa, vanilla, and dried fruits, highlighting the complexity and depth of this rum.
Distillery/Bottler: The Nine Leaves Distillery was founded in 2013 by Yoshiharu Takeuchi in Otsu, Japan. It was distinguished by its high quality standards and innovative techniques, inspired by the Chichibu Distillery. After the distillery's closure in 2023, La Maison & Velier acquired the entire stock and released this rum in a limited edition.
