Volume: 0.7 litres | Alcohol content: 25% | Chill filtration: No | Colouring: No
Special Features:
Fruit pulp remains part of the experience in this passion fruit liqueur from Joseph Cartron: it is left unfiltered, preserving its fruity substance. The passion fruit contributes both sweet and tart notes and defines its aromatic character.
In the glass, the liqueur is yellow and opaque, with a glossy surface. This bottling contains 0.7 litres and has an alcohol content of 25%.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: The nose offers a distinct, fresh fruit aroma reminiscent of freshly pressed fruit juice.
- Palate: On the palate, the liqueur is creamy, with a texture reminiscent of fruit purée. Its sweetness remains restrained.
- Finish: The finish is distinctly fruity and leaves a delicate bitterness.
Distillery/Bottler:
Joseph Cartron founded the house bearing his name in 1882 in Nuits-Saint-Georges, Burgundy. Judith Cartron continues the family tradition in the fifth generation. Alongside fruit liqueurs, the range includes fruit brandies and aperitifs.
Selecting fruit varieties is an important part of the house’s work. For its regional specialities, Joseph Cartron uses vineyard peaches from Burgundy, mirabelle plums from Lorraine and apricots from the Monts du Lyonnais, for example. Its crèmes de cassis use the Noir de Bourgogne variety. This selection reflects the house’s general approach; in the passion fruit liqueur, however, the exotic fruit takes centre stage.
